I heart Faces Photo Challenge week 35

I heart Faces : photojournalism Challenge

I took this picture in honor of the Wives and Families who have lost a loved one who faught for our country. You hear a picture is worth a thousand words... this is truly more then a thousand to me. What words come to mind when you see this picture? I think Brave, Strong, Dream, America, LAND OF THE FREE!

  6. I love this picture. Both as a wannabe-photographer, and as the sister of a deployed Marine. Every time I read about the casualties in our military, and hear that they left behind a wife and/or children my heart just rips to shreds.

  7. Dear friends lost their son/nephew in July in Afghanistan. I had the great honor of taking photos for them at the military funeral. If I hadn't been looking through the lens, I would have dissolved into a puddle of tears; such heartbreak and pain. Yes please... do tell this story. It's all too real for all too many...
